Caroline began skating in Massachusetts at the age of two. Her parents would bring her to the Bay State Speedskating club practice at the local rink so that they did not have to leave her with a babysitter. Caroline qualified for the 1995 Olympic Festival Team when she was 14. She began training in the Olympic Training Center in Lake Placid, NY in June 1995. Since then, she has been a three time US Jr. Champion, an 8 time World Team member, a 3 time Olympian, and US Short Track Champion in 2003 and 2004.
